Terrors on Wheels

What’s so wrong with being a terror on wheels? There’s a certain “bad boy” image that is attractive to a lot of people. See How to be a Bad Boy and How Bush’s Bad-Boy Image Helps. What’s extremely odd is that women seem to fall for this type despite their verbal denials. Is there any excuse for being unrestrainedly aggressive towards those around you? Or is this only a trait we allow in men?

Like I’ve said before, I think most Americans want to be good enough to be legal, but bad enough to be interesting. As if being radically and disturbingly good isn’t.

Still, Americans are just somehow extremely uneasy when their daughters are little “terrors on wheels.” It could be argued that being aggressive (persuasive/antagonistic/forceful/uncompromsing/bossy) at play as children is practicing leadership skills which will come in handy as adults (or perhaps, as men). So what do we teach women who have leadership skills? Be nice? Don’t step up to that plate? Don’t go in that kitchen: it’s hot?
