Micah

One of my daughters gave birth to a PhD last January. The other just gave birth to my first grandchild, Micah Terrance Hansen, last night at 9 pounds 12 ounces and 22 inches long. I’m in Orlando helping the parents in whatever little ways I can. How wonderful it is to see new life enter the world and know that he will be brought up in the joy of the Lord and to treat women in the church respectfully. His mother attended a Christian college associated with a denomination that held the traditional hierarchical gender position and she took abuse from both faculty and students for leading praise and worship and Bible studies (with men present) and standing up for the Christian egalitarian position that the Bible teaches.

I’m proud of both of my daughters. They’re intelligent and strong and can take almost anything the church can throw at them and still remain believers. At least that is my prayer.
